Newportraits: Community House

I've had the opportunity to setup my portable photo studio at Community House in Maindee many times over the years, and I love the fact that I get to meet and photograph such a diverse range of people. This shoot was of members of the Pensioners Lunch Club and Dostanna - an Asian Men's Club. I spent at least 10 minutes with each sitter, chatting, asking questions and listening to their stories before taking any photos. Spending time with each sitter before hand results in portraits that are more honest and real - we've already made some human connection by the time the photos are taken.
